Role Location: ANZ Fiji

Role Type: Permanent, Full-time

As a member of the first line of defence function, the credit quality assurance officer is responsible for undertaking high value credit assurance activities independently to ensure level of adherence to ANZ’s lending policies, processes, and controls in the Commercial, SME and High-Risk customer portfolios across the Pacific Region. Recommend innovative changes and process remediations to senior stakeholders, embedding a culture of ‘best-practices’.

The key responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • conduct timely credit assurance file reviews of simple and complex credit transactions ensuring credit quality, including credit facilities are accurately established, documented, and are adequately supported by instruments as required by ANZ Bank
  • ensure adherence to credit governance, policies, procedures, country risk appetite, product guidelines including regulatory requirements;
  • assess the adequacy of the control framework to manage risks within Pacific wholesale lending portfolios
  • coordinate reporting of thematic insights for regions delegated by line manager, actively engage and attend risk forums as a representative of Pacific Credit Quality Assurance sharing insights
  • analyse and understand the risk profiles of new or emerging business areas that have not previously been reviewed, having sound understanding of industry knowledge, trends
  • continue to learn and adapt by leveraging best practices across other divisions of ANZ

About You

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and experience in risk, compliance, or internal audit disciplines is preferred
  • Sound understanding of wholesale lending policies, bank’s credit systems, products and procedures
  • Proven experience in commercial banking will be an advantage
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to influence and negotiate change
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Sound experience in Audit, Assurance, Operational skills
  • Strong focus on delivering quality outcomes
  • Well-developed conceptual thinking capabilities
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and a team player
